Bart Hess and his resculpted architecture of the Human and it’s body. His and Lucy Mcrae’s work influenced me to resculpted and deform pieces I made on the wheel.
I did this by wrapping sting around the form and pulling both ends of the same time to tighten, fold and bend the piece inwards and outwards. I then gently fed the string through to keep tugging at the clay to deform rather than pulling so hard that the string would cut straight through the piece. I’m happy with this piece. I cleaned it up a bit with a rubber kidney because it was very messy before hand.
