Pewter Casting

As soon as Martin showed us examples of pewter casting I immediately wanted to make a necklace. I imagined geometric shapes although the triangle looks more like a coat hanger. It was amazing to see how easy the process was/is. Using the negative space to experiment with the positive space that the metal will be upholding from your carved cast. I had a few problems with the casting as the lines were very thin and the metal dried too fast to transport across all engravings. Therefore I had to add more meeting points for the whole shape to be captured.

I was happy with the outcome although I wish I carried on and made another piece to see what else I could;ve produced as a detailed drawing possible or another process such as the pewter casting with sand. IMG_3157IMG_3156 IMG_3158 IMG_3159IMG_3160IMG_3166
