Reading through my draft of the dissertation I find this paragraph. I feel it relates well to what I’m trying to find clarity in my subject work at the moment. Through languages, connections in objects and our understandings.


I am looking at the language of communication and our perceptions such as Hawkes semiotics, Levi-Strauss classifications and Aristotle’s essentialism. To allow us to engage with transformative learning, putting us into the viewer’s shoes. Something to consider in the text explaining any artifact is the phonetic distinctions in writing, the smallest contrastive linguistic unit, which brings a change of meaning can change the meaning of the visual aesthetic for the viewer. Invoking fashions of language to express simple objects to complex thoughts and opinions.
